August 16, 2005Stephen A. Smith must die
Posted at August 16, 2005 12:27 PM I almost began to like Stephen A Smith before 10 seconds ago. I was listening to his new show on 1050am ESPN Radio in NYC, and when he came back from commercial, he played the beat from Mobb Deep, Shook Ones part II. But then he said, "that's the beat from 8-mile...Eminem in the house...but we're not talking about Detroit today, we're talking about New York." Now I have to kill him if I ever meet him. The Mobb Deep song is over ten years old, and Smith was likely just telling listeners where they'd heard the song before. Posted by: josephgrossberg at August 17, 2005 6:13 PM Yeah hopefully he was being sarcastic, he's certainly old enough to know better. I would give hime the benefit of the doubt Posted by: rocwell at August 17, 2005 9:47 PM No, you're right. Stephen A. Smith must die. Not to mention his vapid mug glaring at me from an oversized billboard every time I emerge from the Queens -Midtown Tunnel. Ugh. Nightmares of the night, indeed! (think he knows that one?) Posted by: kami at August 18, 2005 10:35 AM You guys are idiots, that is the opening song from 8 Mile. He wasn't wrong. Posted by: Jeff at August 18, 2005 6:14 PM Jeff, Jeff, Jeff.. Jesus weeps for you. Posted by: Jay Smooth at August 18, 2005 7:23 PM And I suppose Hungarian Rhapsody #2 is that song from Bugs Bunny? Posted by: Jason Solis at August 19, 2005 9:52 AM And Jesus is that guy from the Mel Gibson movie.. Posted by: Jay Smooth at August 19, 2005 10:51 AM Man you pompous a holes. Getting on someones case for a little syntax error. Clearly that song is in the movie, he never said it was eminem singing and he never stated it wasn't mobb deep. It is one of the beats from 8 mile, just because he didnt give respect to the original rappers doesn't mean a thing. The world would be such a better place without people like you ripping on everyone for every small thing. The fact is it was a beat from 8 mile, so whats the big deal? People like you guys should be killed because u have nothing better to do than rip on someone, he probably didn't even write that, so maybe you guys should go after his writers. I hate steven smith also but not cause of something small and stupid like that. I am sure you all make mistakes, and FYI this wasn't a mistake just a bad refence. Chew on that, dont bother replying to make me look silly to your friends either, I won't be checking. Who is gonna chew me out now and try and make themselves feel a bit better because their life sucks? Posted by: Steve at August 19, 2005 4:25 PM hahahahahaha Kill the wabbit, Kill the waaaabit! Posted by: Jason Solis at August 19, 2005 4:37 PM "just because he didnt give respect to the original rappers doesn't mean a thing." Obviously we disagree on that... Posted by: Jay Smooth at August 20, 2005 3:24 PM Ludacris lookin mahf--ka! Posted by: opinionated at August 22, 2005 1:44 AM steven a. was the inevitable result of stu scott (who really needs to update his slang menagerie); someone would have inevitably turned up the dial on that caricature of black america, making it just a hair more street, thus gaining more "street cred". he's just wearing the new blackface.
