from digg.com: Bad news: ABC has rejected the 10th submission for a commercial during this year's Super Bowl. The Good news: Go Daddy believes that ABC does want to find middle ground for a commercial that is acceptable to ABC, the NFL and Go Daddy. Posted by: Doc at January 23, 2006 11:46 AM Doc, I believe that Parsons is complaining that ABC and the NFL are exercising a double standard, and he does appear to have a case. How many times does the NFL review an ad that a network has already approved? That having been said, Parsons is laughing all the way to the bank. Look at the worst case, in which GoDaddy doesn't get a commercial on the Super Bowl (whoops, the Big Game) and ends up putting the commercial on its website. Sure, they won't get the Super Bowl audience, but they will get an audience of those people who are most likely to use GoDaddy's domain name registration services. And they don't have to pay $2 million or $5 million or whatever to ABC. And they get founts of all knowledge like me to publicize the situation for them. Pretty good marketing move.
