Neil Young "Living With War" Album, Lyrics to Title Track

Neil Young just posted the news on his website that, in a 3 day span this month, he suddenly popped out an entire album.. it's entitled Living With War, and it's ten songs are said to go after Bush, and hard.. one track entitled "Impeach the President." Here's the info from his site:

...just finished a new record.... a power trio with trumpet and 100 voices ... recorded earlier this month...i think it is a metal version of Phil Ochs and Bob Dylan ... Metal folk

protest? its called LIVING WITH WAR... the title song is the second of 10 songs

on the record... we will be releasing lyrics on this ticker...I would like to thank Warner Bros/Reprise records for the support...as well as the 100 vocalists and my three musicians,

Chad Cromwell, drums, Rick Rosas, bass, Tommy Brea , trumpet ... and Nick Bolas, Larry Johnson, John Hausman, John Nowland, Tim Mulligan,Darrell Brown and Rosemary Butler, Redwood Digital Studios, Capital Studios ...

And the lyrics to Living With War:

I'm LIVING WITH WAR everyday

I'm LIVING WITH WAR in my heart everyday

I'm LIVING WITH WAR right now.....

And when the dawn breaks I see my fellow man ...

And on the flat-screen we kill and we're killed again...

and when the night falls, I pray for PEACE...

Try to remember PEACE (visualize)...

I join the multitudes...

I raise my hand in PEACE

I never bow to the laws of the thought police

I take a holy vow...

To never to kill again..

To never kill again...

I'm LIVING WITH WAR in my hear

I'm LIVING WITH WAR in my heart and my mind...

I'm LIVING WITH WAR right now...

Don't take no tidal wave...

Dont take no mass grave...

Don't take no smokin' gun....

To show how the west was won....

But when the curtain falls,

I pray for PEACE....

Try to remember PEACE (visualize).......

Bush is insane, not just impeach him, but declare him criminally insane.
In Australia,an old man, John Howard is also in the same mould.Heaven help us in the next few months.
Long may you run and have a voice Neil

Congratulations Neil, you may be the beginning of reminding people we do have a voice.....and we should speak loudly.

Thanks Neil for saying what needs to be said.Hopefully it will bring many others to relise that government is supposed to work for the people, not the other way around...and when a leader speaks in half-truths and has the vision of a blind bat,its time for him to go.Its time for Bush to be sent home from school.

Way to go brother !!! This war was based on lies and if we allow the bastard to go any further, there could be another war in Iran. Iran is not essentially a rougue nation and could be converted into a potential friend if we shake hands with them. Sanctions will only encourage them to go nuke which is uncalled for.

Great song and keep the good work goin.

peace,
Shumit

This is the beginning, people. The next thing is to take some action and make this country great again.

Of course, Neil Young's politics have been a terribly inconsistent, giving me the impression that, somehow, post-Vietnam, Neil Young fell into some kind mental laziness and became a victim of the same corporate media misinformation as most US citizens (Isn't he a Canadian?).

I wrote him off after "Lets Roll".

But it is time for me to put all that behind. This could be big.

yes neil young, from the ilegal wiretapping, to the false pre war build up it is time for action.

The old Neil is back. Thank God somebody is making a strong clear stand. Just when I was giving up the ghost. Just when Neil seemed to be getting dare I say it "old". Fair play. May he be an inspiration to all - younger generations and old - to spread the word and move opinion in a big way.

All I have to say is THANK YOU. There is so many people that have these very thoughts in our head, but we feel hopeless. Thanks for being our collective voice once again Mr. Young. Lookin' for a leader, I think we already have one. You must understand the power of your word. I've been to your concerts, you have the voice. Get together with other's like yourself and the rest of the world will follow. I've seen it!!!!! One Love, One World, One Voice...

I love the genuine emotions of sadness and hope in this album, yearning for peace, which I feel is universal among all people who value human freedom. Militant Islam has targetted the rest of the world, and we are sadly in the middle of a global war which we have no choice but face with our heads held high and our eyes focussed on victory, not submission. Although I disagree with Neil blaming Bush for the current global strife (he should blame the bloodthirsty and oppressive terrorists, despots, and their supporters - Bush is an easy and unpopular target), I admire his heartfelt yearning for peace which I feel deeply as well... even though I view the current battle against militant Islam as a sobering and sad reality.

I saw your interview with a CNN journalist a few days ago, and that made me appreciate you and the album incredibly more! I'm a muslim guy and I love America but not what this insane man called Bush is doing...You've been always a man of principles Neil so please stick on them and carry on. We follow Neil...May our God Bless you

Speaking as A Canadian who sees my own countrymen now also being killed in this crazy war I agree with Neil so much about this war. Several dys after 9-11 I hearda former American Diplomat on our national CBC radio network telling as how he knew for a fact that at least three terrorists who flew into the world trade center had received their visas into the usa from the CIA directly. I wonder if old Bushy has had that poor honest man put down somewhere and somehow.THis war is all about profitting on arms sales, oil and doublespeak and lies from The Bush administration and now also our latest canadian Gov't which takes it's policies straight from george Bush! and Keep screaming the truth to us all Neil ! The world needs more of this stuff!

We(the thinking world)have been desperate for something like this, someone to do an album that can really reach the heart and minds of people. A million of us could meet and protest but it would not have the effect that the message you promote here can have. The future is in the hands of the young. My generation (despite being a sixties/seventies rebelious one) have secumbed to the pressures of the greedy. You have gone a long way to offer much food for thought to many. We can change the direction of governments, we just need to unite the majority. Music is the most powerful medium there is. Lets use it.

I served during the first political war(vietnam) and I can't tell you how happy you have made me with your new album. I have gone to peace rallies recently and I don't see man students at them. This was isn't personnel to the young. Maybe they will here your songs and realize that it very personnel.
thank you for your words and your truths

LIVING WITH WAR is a fantastic, blistering attack on that dope, Bush and his cronies, and I for one totally welcome it!

60 years old and still rockin' in the free world...Neil Young, thanks for continuing to make music, man!!!!

Peace,

Dee :)

i believe that the message neil young is trying 2 do is great, even tho maybe some of the lyrics MIGHT be going a little bit 2 far...i reaalllly dont like bush, & dont intend on liking him soon, especially how iraq had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING 2 do w/ 9/11...it was osama bin laden!!! i have no idea y we started bombing iraq...i really dont blame them 4 shooting back @ us.

Thank God for Neil Young. He is someone who sings what I say everyday and thinks just like I do. I was thinking I was the only person alive that was livid with what is going on in my country and the world. The 2 words I have everywhere in my office, in my home, and in my heart are peace and hope. Without them our world is doomed. I can't judge George Bush; it isn't my job, but I can say he is not the person he should be and he isn't doing his job. We don't need a gun-slinger in the white house. We need to get rid of all the hate mongering idiots in that administration.

Oh Neil... you are wonderful. I will listen to your music and words until the day that I die.
