January 3, 2006Chino XL "Poison Pen" AlbumThe mighty Chino XL, who I once rhymed with on stage at the Village Gate, has a new album coming out named "Poison Pen" (no relation to the Stronghold MC, who's also nice). It's currently listed as dropping on January 24th, but we shall see. Here's the info from hiphopgalaxy. Title track produced by..... Dan Charnas!!? Chino XL is set to drop his long awaited new joint on the masses called "Poison Pen". After turning down many offers from labels such as Aftermath and G-Unit, he decided to release the album through indie label Activate. The double disc will consist of 18 bangers and will have videos and hidden tracks included. Collaborations include Killah Priest, Beatnuts, and Proof. Known throughout the years for blazing mics on The Wake Up Show and freestyles across the country, Chino has kept a consistent fan base due to his punchline heavy style that has influenced many MC’s, most notably Eminem. He released "Art of Origin EP", "Here to Save You All", and "I Told You So". The new album Poison Pen is set for a late January release. Posted by jsmooth995 at January 3, 2006 7:57 PM Commentsdon't hate! ;-) Posted by: Daniel at January 24, 2006 8:44 AM fuck you chino xl. you know 2pac. you ar loser Posted by: enis at February 10, 2006 2:08 PM We need more mc's like chino. The rap game has changed tremendously since the eighty's. Back then you had to have skills to have anything.Videos, album deals etc. Since the ice-age, the love for the game has gone completely. Now it's all about beef and record sales. Disregarding the real reason for beef & how they settled it in the first place. Someone needs to save the game, because we're being controled by the man all over again. For all u peeps who like Chino XL...Can I get a Hellz Yeah! ~Peace~ Posted by: Andrew Hillier at June 7, 2006 7:44 PM fuck that nigga just like pac said that nigga ain't real and he don't want to step to g-unit that nigga sucks i dare that nigga to go against 50 and i bet you he will end up fucked just like he did when he went against pac Posted by: young thug at July 3, 2006 8:19 PM 1st of all, the Production of Poison Pen is Dreadful... honestly I gave the whole album a fair listen to, for 5 times.!! He Could have done a lot better if he had of let shaddy/aftermath be his lable, they would have made a lot of change, made a lot of change to beats and music...etc,etc, also they would have given CHINO XL Publicity he would NOT have got elsewhare.... And he seems to be trying to master Eminem's Style on a few of his tracks, were he goes NUTS, Bonkers, talks to his Psychologist etc. I give him little credit, because he turned down a G-Uint and Shaddy/Aftermath deal, that may have been worth a Million Dollars at least, the kinda money im afraid to say he will NOT be seeing this time around.... Please download the whole CD off P2P, and listen to it, its worth a listen if your a Hard core Rap Fan or DJ like myself... but as for the poor production, its NOT worth BUYING... PS.BIG D12 Proof plays a big part in one of the Tracks, and he does well.!
