What a game! Here are the highlights of one for the ages, much as we enjoyed seeing America's run, it seems only right for Brasil to take this one home.

Producing the best soccer it has played in recent memory, the United States men's national team came within a whisker Sunday of pulling off its second staggering international soccer upset in just five days.

After shutting out Spain, the world's No. 1-ranked team, 2-0, in midweek, the U.S. was leading Brazil by the same score at halftime in the final of the FIFA Confederations Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Americans still held a 2-1 advantage with less than 20 minutes remaining. A 10th-minute goal by Clint Dempsey off a cross by Jonathan Spector and a 27th-minute goal by Landon Donovan after a give-and-go exchange of passes with Charlie Davies had the Brazilians back on their heels.
