Regular Peanut Consumption Reduces Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

A new study shows that regular consumption of peanuts can significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The health study looked at over 83,000 women and compared various levels of intake: none, low levels, and higher levels. The highest showed a significant reduction in type 2 diabetes. To avoid increasing calories by excess peanut consumption, the study suggested reducing meat intake to balance it out.(peanuts are a good source of protein). Along with our efforts to improve health care, we would all benefit from simply improving our health as well! So advice like this should be great for America.

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention says rates of type 2 diabetes have tripled within the last 30 years. They report that over 17 million people in the United States have diabetes, and 16 million more are at high risk of developing the disease.
