So Lady Gaga's "Telephone" was originally a Britney Spears song?

That seems to be the situation, as a leak has hit the internet of Britney Spears doing a rough demo of the song, recorded long before Gaga made it a hit with Beyonce.

According to sources, Lady Gaga wrote the track for Britney, before her own career got going, but Britney turned it down after making the demo, leaving Gaga free to use it herself (and make a bigger hit that Britney has had in a long time). One wonders if Britney is kicking herself now!

Hold the phone - Britney Spears recorded "Telephone" before Lady Gaga? Music producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins has confirmed on Twitter that the leaked Spears "Telephone" demo is genuine. "Just listened and yes its the demo, not a mixed version," the Grammy Award-winning producer tweeted Monday. "I will not leak a mixed version. I am respecting Britney and Jive wishes." iLeaks.com released the early demo of Lady Gaga's song online after someone reportedly paid $750 to hear it. According to Gawker.com, Gaga wrote the tune for the "Circus" star before she launched her own Monster Ball.
