Baby Boomers Sex: Booming?

According to a new survey, about 25% of baby boomers say their sex lives are not so hot these days. But why have so many of the greatest generation lost that loving feeling?

According to Dr. Ruth Westheimer, "We worry so much about teens and sex, but this poll indicates a need for a call to action for these boomers to become more sexually literate. "It has to do with unrealistic expectations. They have to engage in conversation. They have to tell their partners what they really need."

Interestingly, both those who are over 65 and those who are under 45 each had happier sex lives on average than the baby boomers aho are between 45 and 65. What explains this? I guess boomers are too old to get it done, but not old enough to stop carung?

Free love is kaput for the nation's baby boomers, with nearly one in four saying the fire has gone out in their sex lives, a new survey shows. The nationwide poll released yesterday revealed 24% of people between the ages of 45 and 65 say that life between the sheets is anything but steamy. The heart of the problem, she says, is that men and women in this age group have wildly different expectations of what they want in the bedroom. While 61% of men say sex is an important part of a healthy relationship, 53% of women say it doesn't really matter, the poll found. "Times have changed," said Michelle Ali, a 48-year-old hair dresser from Queens. "It is not like the old days when women were more relaxed as housewives."
