As is there aren't already enough reasons to quit smoking, now a study at UCLA says smoking cigarettes also increases your chances of going blind in old age!

Macular degeneration, also known as AMD, is the leading cause of blindness in American senior citizens, damaging your retina over time, and it is believed now that smoking cigarettes escalates the onslaught of this debilitating condition. And even if you are already of an advanced age, you still benefit from stopping smoking, and getting help to stop if you can't do it yourself. Nicotine addiction just gets more and more evil the more you learn about it.

When it comes to maintaining your eyesight, it really is never too late to benefit from quitting smoking, a UCLA study has found. The University of California at Los Angeles research found that even after age 80, smoking increases your risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, or AMD -- the leading cause of blindness in Americans over 65.AMD causes progressive damage to the center of the retina that leads to darkness or blurred vision...
