Sarah Palin Marijuana (VIDEO)

Sarah Palin threw a curve ball to many other liberal detractors this week, when she offered a perspective on marijuana that was surprisingly close to what many on the left might say.

Sitting with Ron Paul on a panel for Fox News, Palin did not say she favored the legalization of marijuana, but she did say it should not be treated as a major criminal issue.

Here's the quote: "If we're talking about pot, I'm not for the legalization of pot. I think that would just encourage our young people to think that it was OK to go ahead and use it...However I think we need to prioritize our law enforcement efforts. If somebody's gonna to smoke a joint into their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society...and not concentrate on such a, relatively speaking, minimal problem we have in the country."

Marijuana has been found to have many health benefits, helping people with glaucoma, stress, chronic pain, people who have difficulty with their cancer treatment ad many other issues.

Sarah Palin says police probably have better things to do than arresting people who smoke marijuana. Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, appeared on Fox News with Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, to speak about a variety of issues.
