Bret Michaels: American Idol Judge?

Bret Michaels is already music royalty and a reality TV champion, so who could be better to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol?

The rock singer and now winner of Celebrity Apprentice has said he would be honored to replace Simon Cowell as head judge of the singing competition, which is struggling to find a replacement as its founder leaves to start a new show.

The show's ratings tumbled this year, as Ellen replaced Paula Abdul and the consensus was that the talent was not up to the usual standard, other than the excellent singer and great person Crystal Bowersox. So it will be a big test for the show , finding someone who can fill Simon Cowell's shoes. Would Bret Michaels be the man for the job? Time will tell. I'm still hoping for Diddy, just for comic relief's sake.

Bret Michaels American Idol Judge

Just a few weeks ago, fans were concerned that Bret Michaels might not survive a brain hemorrhage. Now, debate has moved on to a far less important, albeit pop culturally relevant, issue: Should Michaels replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol? The rocker told concert goers in Mississippi on Friday night that he was being considered for the gig. Now, in an interview with People, the former Poison singer explains why he'd be a great choice, starting with his "old-school, paying-my-dues experience."
