Marriage Study: Cheating Gene

In news that may come as a shock, to someone somewhere perhaps though I can't imagine who, new studies of marriage suggest men may have a cheating gene.

The research suggests men who cheat may sometimes have something in their DNA that makes them genetically prone to being unfaithful. Many studies have been done over the years about relationship advice and monogamy and what makes a marriage work, and there have always been indications that at least psychologically, human beings are not necessarily cut out for monogamy, at least on an instinctive level. But it usually seems to work better than the alternatives. We're just not that good at relationships, as a species!

Wedding vows are supposed to mean you stay married forever, but a study shows for some men it just may not be possible. Apparently, the more we learn about DNA the more researchers are finding evidence that some men are born with a so-called cheating heart. Dr. Brenda wade has written three books on marriage and relationships. She says a Swedish study followed more than a 1,000 twins finding that there is a bonding chemical in some men, which makes them less likely to stay married and more likely to end up in bad relationships.
