Maura Tierney New Role

Maura Tierney, famous for starring in ER (though I'll always think of her as the star of Newsradio) has found a new home on TV!

Maura will now star in a new show from famed producer Jerry Bruckheimer, a legal drama that will air on ABC. The show is named The Whole Truth, and premieres this fall.

Tierney had been sidelined by a battle with breast cancer, which forced her to drop out of the NBC show Parenthood, but now her health has improved enough that she's able to get back in the game, and we are all delighted to see it. Very happy for her that she was able to overcome the health situation and get her life back. Lauren Graham seems perfect for that part on Parenthood too, so it all evens out.

Less than a year after dropping out of NBC's "Parenthood" as she battled breast cancer, Maura Tierney has signed on to star in a new legal drama from Jerry Bruckheimer. The former "ER" star will play Kathryn Peale, a deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney's office in ABC's "The Whole Truth," set to premiere this fall on the network. Rob Morrow formerly of CBS' "Numb3rs" will play Jimmy Brogan, Kathryn's pal from law school, who she'll square off with each week.
