Erin Brockovich Shell Protest

Legendary working class activist Erin Brockovich continues to fight for her beliefs, and is making noise one more time with a protest against the Shell Oil company.

They were protesting the damage they say Shell is doing to the environment with excessive methane and benzene from their previous work with oil tanks there.

Said Brockovich: "I've been doing this for 20 years, and the thing that can make the difference will be you. Unfortunately, this is a story that is playing itself out all over the United States. You are not alone,"

Activist Erin Brockovich led protesters in Carson Saturday afternoon in a demonstration against Shell Oil. The group met at a park and marched to Shell's offices, all while chanting "Shame on Shell." Protesters claim that a tract in the Carousel neighborhood is contaminated with high levels of methane and benzene because Shell used to operate an oil tank farm there. They want the oil giant to clean it up. Brockovich told protesters to not give up. Shell media relations did not issue a response to the protest. Shell are working to deliver cleaner burning and more efficient fuels. Our products and services are also designed to meet the needs of businesses - from the construction industry to aviation, chemicals to shipping.
