Bob Stoops & Notre Dame? (VIDEO)


With Charlie Weis's brutal fall from grace at Notre Dame this season, fans are wondering who will be the next head coach for their storied college football franchise. And though it's not confirmed yet, word has it Notre Dame's new coach will be none other than Bob Stoops.

A reporter who tracks the team says they have already verbally agreed with Stoops for him to take over coaching the troubled football squad perhaps even this week. Which is too late to save this season, but maybe they can keep building for the future. Stoops, though is said to be denying these reports, so we'll just have to wait and see.

A writer from the Notre Dame Scout page is reporting that Bob Stoops and the Notre Dame athletic department have agreed verbally to the principles of a contract , and that if Notre Dame can meet his financial requirements, Stoops will take over as head coach of the Fighting Irish as early as this week...

Bob Stoops has always been a "stand-up" guy with a lot of class and character. It would be highly uncharacteristic of him to lie about any contact he has had with Notre Dame. If Stoops claims there has been no contact, I believe him.
