Kalamandalam Hemaletha: Guinness Record Dance!


A woman in India named Kalamandalam Hemaletha:has set a new Guinness Record for the longest dance in the history of the world!

The dancer, studied classical dance and trained intensively to build up her cardio and fitness, so she could ultimately dance for 123 consecutive hours. Her goal was to spread awareness of the traditional Indian dance she was performing. Dance is one of the best and healthiest ways to exercise and build up your cardiovascular fitness, as many gym classes are built around it. Dance as exercise is also one of the biggest selling points of the Microsoft Xbox Kinect, including Kinect games like Dance Central.

She practiced an Indian classical dance for 10 hours a day and ran for 28 miles (45 kilometers) to build her stamina. Then she danced and danced and danced some more For 123 hours and 15 minutes, Kalamandalam Hemaletha danced the Mohiniyattam. It is one of the eight Indian classical dance forms, a solo recital by women. Her effort earned the 37-year-old mother a Guinness record for the longest dance.
