VIDEO: Ben Stiller 2009 Oscars (Joaquin Phoenix)


Hilarious bit from Ben Stiller tonight on the 2009 Oscars as he presented with Natalie Portman, pretending to be the newly bearded and befuddled Joaquin Phoenix. Better hope Phoenix really is joking with that routine though! Or else this'll be mighty awkward in retrospect..

Ben Stiller has the Hollywood habitues laughing, as he's wont to do, dressed up in Joaquin Phoenix drag — bushy hair, thick glasses, scruffy beard, gm on the podium — as Natalie Portman plays straightwoman for the cinematography award. "I just wanna retire from being a funny guy," he says before wandering around the podium. A welcome break from the formality.

This was really mean, and mean-spirited attack against Joaquin. And for what? Just over a lousy stupid interview he wasn't interested in on letterman?

Relax ME -- it's called comedy -- it's what Ben Stiller does and he's very good at it.

Humor, humiliation...whatever it takes to get Joaquin into rehab. Kindness won't save his life if he's in the same path as River.
