Maybe it's real, maybe they're never making it?? What kind of mixed up announcement is this?

Dell Inc, the worlds No.2 PC maker, is developing a pocket-sized device for tapping into the Internet, the Wall Street Journal said citing people familiar with the company's plans.

The gadget would run on Google Inc's Android software, the people told the paper. According to the paper, two people who saw early prototypes described the device as slightly larger than Apple Inc's iPod Touch, which is similar to the iPhone but does not have cellphone capabilities.

Another person who was briefed on the company's plans told the paper that Dell may begin selling the device later this year, though this person said the plan could be delayed or scrapped entirely.

The debacle of whether or not this device actually is about as much of a joke ad Dell's customer service. After owning 4 Dell computers my last purchase experience was so pathetic that they deserve to go into bankruptcy.

God bless any company trying to challenge the market share that Apple commands on this type of device. I have an Ipod touch and it is the most incredible piece of technology I've ever seen. If a company wishes to compete with Apple they will need more than just another touchscreen mp3/video player. They will need something fresh that Apple does not offer such as a built in camera or possibly an infrared multidevice remote. Otherwise you might as well go with the Ferrari of this type of device "Apple"
