"RIP NEDA, The World cries seeing your last breath, you didn't die in vain. We remember you."

That post on Twitter came from a man who identified himself as an American guitarist in Nashville, Tennessee.

Amid the hundreds of images and videos of Saturday's brutal crackdown on protesters in Iran that flooded the Internet, it was the graphic video showing the death of a young woman that touched a nerve among those following the events in Tehran for more than a week.

Like most of the information coming out of Tehran, it is impossible to verify her name, Neda, or the circumstances of her apparent death, captured close-up on a bystander's camera.

CNN ran a pixilated version of the video, which was posted on YouTube. It shows a woman in jeans and white sneakers collapsed on the street, as the person with the camera -- most likely from a cell phone -- runs toward her and focuses on her face.

One blogger posted that Neda was protesting with her father in Tehran when pro-government Basiji militia opened fire and shot her in the heart.

"The final moments of her tender young life leaked into the pavement of Karegeh Street today, captured by cell phone cameras," the unnamed blogger posted on Newsvine.com. "And not long after, took on new life, flickering across computer screens around the world on YouTube, and even CNN."

For the video of her tragic death watch here -WARNING, THIS VIDEO IS VERY GRAPHIC AND DISTURBING.

i'm sorry to say but after viewing this video a second time, i think it may be staged. notice at :11 secs, a small vial of red dye in her left hand and as she proceeds to pour the liquid on her face and quickly hand the vial to someone else. then she is seen without the vial after the red liquid has collected over her face. also, if she gets shot in the torso, she wouldn't bleed from her face like that.

Ummm...this s not staged to whoever you are. This is life in Iran. Its's an insult stating your ridiculous conspiracy theory get a clue idiot. RIP Neda you will always be remembered and a known face of this revlution. Hope you are now happily resting with the angels beautiful lady.

To The Imbecile Who Puts Forth That Neda's Death Was Staged; Please do let me know what your medical credentials are for you to state that if shot "in the torso", she wouldn't bleed from the mouth and nose-watching "ER" and "House" doesn't count, by the way. Speaking as a critical care nurse with trauma experience, it is very common with this type of injury to have Hemotypsis; any of the great vessels could be ruptured-pulmonary artery, aorta-this would result in massive hemmorhage-the still briefly pumps-the body's volume has to go somewhere-if the bullet in her upper chest-it looks like a direct cardiac hit to me-then it is very likely that blood was filling up her pleural space, her trachea, her esophagus-which would result in the blood flowing in one big run out of her nose and mouth. Two other things-unless she has previously practiced this-it would be extremely difficult to hold that much "blood" in her mouth and then have it pour out of her nose and mouth at the same time without some kind of gag or cough reflex taking over-it is just too much fluid at one time; she would have to of held it in her mouth and pushed it out of her mouth and nose at the same time, against gravity (laying on her back) while "pretending" to go limp-very unlikely; plus, in my line of work, I've seen many people die-it is something that you know when you see it-the way they look-she died.

1. In the audio one can clearly hear a woman shouting 'allah akbar.' This is common for martys.
2. She told her boyfriend that she was going to the protest 'even if she was shot in the heart.'
3. Instead of scattering, four or five people immediately begin to try and stem the wound's bleeding.
4. Instead of looking at her father, Neda watches for the camera to come over from behind the gang of people surrounding her.
5. The man she was protesting for - the 'alternative' candidate - was behind the Beirut bombing of US Marines, and was behind an attack that killed several sailors.

I agree that it's definitely staged.
