October 8, 2009Saudi Gets 5 Years, 1,000 Lashes for TV Sex Talk
A man in Saudi Arabia, is facing 5 years in prison, and 1,000 lashes, for the crime of discussing his sex life on television. Saudi Arabia is extremely conservative country, and this sort of public talk is a major offense. The man, Mazen Abdul-Jawad, says he would never have spoken this way if he knew he was being recorded, and he says the Lebanese show that broadcast his banter duped him into participating. Hard to imagine this happening, as we Americans read about it from a country where it's practically illegal not to talk about your sex life when you're on TV. But in Saudi Arabia there are many repressive laws like this, sadly. The man is still hoping to appeal, and I hope he is able to avoid such a harsh punishment as 5 years and 1,000 lashes. If anything, this is who Harvey Weinstein and alll his friends should be signing petitions for. Posted at October 8, 2009 4:11 AM Comments

Posted by: Sasha at October 8, 2009 5:20 AM I'm glad he got what he deserved. Because a gentleman should NEVER speak of his personal affairs, especially sexual, to anybody so callously. Lack of discretion is a good reason to flog. There is more liberty in Saudi Arabia because in the USA the boundaries between your public life and your private life are not respected and the reputation of good human beings gets thrown in the mud by the most horrible people on earth. Posted by: sumatra at October 8, 2009 5:41 AM Don't you have 8 year olds getting married to 50 year olds? So you also have 10 year olds having sex. Posted by: Osama is a Saudi putz at October 8, 2009 6:37 AM This fool up above that talks about the USA men having sex with 10 year old's, that statement must have been coming from a man that is having sex with camels! Posted by: Dave at October 8, 2009 6:58 AM Anyone who condones the punishment given to this man should recieve the same punishment. Saudi's are all Hypocrites punishing someone for something that has little or no negative impact on anything. This man is innocent. Saudi Arabia is nothing more then a section of the world that hasnt evolved at the same rate of speed as everyone else. Their men and women have the brain capacity of neanderthals. They should be removed from this earth and noone will miss the stupid fuks. Posted by: USA#1 at October 8, 2009 7:11 AM There is entirely too much sexual talk and inuendo going on in our media. Foul mouth actors and actresses doing unimaginable filth in front of our chidren is just beyond the pale and is indefensable. As for this man in Saudi Arabia I feel he was set up by the media who told him he was not being recorded at the time of his statements. I feel for this reason the punishment is too excessive. In Cristianity and Islam mercy is given to those who repent . This man was acting irresponsibly when joking about his sex life yet he was being deceived by the media. If anyone deservse to be punished it shoud be the television executive who deceived this man. I hope Saudi Law shows him mercy. Posted by: FRANK KLEPEISS at October 8, 2009 8:10 AM This is crazy. I wonder what they do to people with disabilities or the elderly when they become senile. If they spoke about sex or demonstrated sexual behavior, what would happen to them? Posted by: Anonymous at October 8, 2009 8:20 AM I am so glad I am AMERICAN. Of course we have our problems, but it's the greatest country on Earth! Posted by: USA ALL THE WAY! at October 8, 2009 8:23 AM Respect, Respect, Respect, has the entire world, thrown Respect out the window? Somethings are better left unsaid, if the U.s. had any respect for each other we wouldn't be in such a moral downswing. THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE, Posted by: Bernadett at October 8, 2009 8:32 AM I am glad that I am an American as well. Sharia Law is stuck in the 2nd century.examples:crushing an 8 year old's hand with a car for stealing, stoning a woman caught in adultery(what about the man??),stoning a young girl for having sex before marriage(again, what about her fiance?), where is the mercy, the freedom, the religion of peace and common sense? The finger pointers should remember that three fingers are pointing back at the finger pointer. "He that is WITHOUT sin, cast the first stone." These countries are religious hypocrites. Thank God for the USA. We are not perfect by any means. However, at least we are in the 21st century. Posted by: self-defense at October 8, 2009 8:36 AM Let me see. I seem to recall reading about the sex slave trade and sheiks and princes from the middle east who buy and sell women and girls and the occasional little boy to satisfy their sexual drives and fantasies! Posted by: Olde Yankee at October 8, 2009 8:36 AM Further.......isn't this the country that imports young woman from Malaysia and Indonesia as maids, servants, etc., and then the 50 and 60 somethings(men of course)use and abuse these poor young women; holding on to their passports so that they are stuck? Where are the religious zealots when these poor young women are so tormented? Posted by: self-defense at October 8, 2009 8:45 AM RESPECT??? Americans do not facilitate car bombings, blowup nights clubs, blowup hotels, kill innocents in the name of God, recruit illiterate youth to carry out kamikazee missions for the agendas and the power trip of radicals under the illusion of being God ordained. Personally, I think America should foldup it "tents" and let the rest of the crazy world destroy itself anyway that it wants. The problem is, we have big hearts(aid to Indonesia, Thailand, etc. after the Tsunami, aid to Indonesia,Philipines, Samoa most recently.and even aid to Iran after major earthquakes......and don't even get me started on all the aid to Africa...plus total help to out former enemies after WW2 to rebuild. As Winston Churchill said," America always does the right thing after they have tried everything else." Also, everytime a problem exists in the world, even our enemies/critics who blame us for everything, ask or beg for our help. Fools that we are, we Americans respond most often with nothing asked in return. Posted by: sel-defense at October 8, 2009 8:59 AM Respect, yes that have since the beginning of time, you needs some guidance, read your true history Posted by: Bernadett at October 8, 2009 9:07 AM Bottomline.....many Saudis are good people. Like all the world over, there is the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY. It is the religious hypocrites and Sharia Law proponents that guide the 2nd century misguided laws. With all due respect to many in the middle east, if you love all these 2nd century guidelines to living......dump your planes, cars, computers, radios, TVs, modern meds, etc., and get back on your horses, camels, get your water from a well, and most of all give up the bombmaking, the guns, rocket launchers, etc.; go back to sticks, clubs, and stones. Oops.........No stones please. That is what started this conversation! Posted by: self-defense at October 8, 2009 9:11 AM Excuse me madam.........I more than know my history which in America is not distorted by propaganda and other outside influences. We all know the good and the bad straight up.The rich, greedy, radicals,power-hungry and misguided ignorant individuals from ALL countries have ,are, and will contribute to the end of civilization.....and I highlight CIVIL. Until people of all nations respect each other and not try to dictate their way as the only way or that their God is better than my God,etc., this world is heading toward self annililation! Like I said, for those USA critics, I personally would like my country to foldup its "tents" and let the rest of the world fend for itself. However, as a member of this global community, it is my responsibility to respect and learn about others. Posted by: self-defense at October 8, 2009 9:18 AM As a point of history, there was no America at the beginning of time. There were only those in the middle east who from the beginning of time(Torah, Bible, Koran) could not get along. Israel is still a stiff-necked and stubborn people. Muhammed stated to live together and DID live in peace with all in his time plus jihad was for an attack one's home and the other form of jihad was personal to an individual who realized his shortcomings/sins and needed to purge himself of his failings.Once again, as history of the world has shown, misguided, power happy, "my way or no way" people are the cause of misery throughout history. I do not need history lessons. What IS needed, however, the people of this world to LEARN from history-EVERY COUNTRY! Posted by: self-defense at October 8, 2009 9:27 AM No One in this world is perfect; not the priests, the ministers, the rabbis, or the clerics."All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." It's sad really, how backwards they are, but in our society, your allowed to be backwards. In any event, it's their country and if they want to run it like they are still in medieval society, then they can. We should pull out completely from this part of the world, throw all the radical arabs out of our country, erect high fences with guards and not allow anyone in here. If someone else ever dares do a 911 on us again, I say we nuke them and let them meet Allah. It's what they pray for anyway. Saudi Arabia and modern Western society are both equally disastrous for different reasons. Posted by: david mccarthy at October 8, 2009 10:33 AM David - I highly disagree. Are you kidding? If that's the way you look at it, then you can say that there is no difference between a 1 year old and a 30 year old - "both equally disastrous for different reasons." Everything in life "evolves" or progresses (is the better word). We as humans HAVE progressed since the 21st century AND the world is a much better place than it was 1,000-2,000 years ago. A LOT less people are dying from religious fighting than back then (even though the media portrays otherwise). I currently live in Israel and it's NOT what the media makes it out to be what-so-ever...ESPECIALLY in Gaza. Come here bore you speak. The guy earlier is correct....God(Allah)will judge man.....but 1000 lashes? Give me a break. As I stated earlier this same Sharia Law misrepresents women, puts unequal impetus on women and any society that would crush a little boy's hand with a car wheel is without conscience, and frankly godless.Peace on earth and good will towards people of all persuasions.......if I were God, I'd cancel this planet now and start over again...... Posted by: Alex at October 8, 2009 2:38 PM Recently, while driving, as I approached an intersection I was momentarily distracted by an inattentive driver in the lane to my left who was encroaching on my lane. While I was avoiding an accident with that other driver, the trafic light at the intersection changed from green to amber and the driver in front of me braked hard. I made a split-second decision to avoid a probable accident by moving into the lane to my right and proceeding into the intersection. Because the light was amber when I entered the intersection and because traffic from the side street was not yet entering the intersection, I made another split-second decision. Rather than creating an additional hazard by stopping in the middle of the intersection, I hit the gas to clear the intersection as quickly as possible. As i exited the intersection I looked at the light and the inersection in my rear view mirror. I saw that the light was red and that the first car in line two lanes to my left was a Tampa city police car. Before the police car even began to move I was pulling over onto the shoulder to wait. I hadn't intended to break the law. Nonetheless, my actions had been goverened by my own conscious, albeit illadvised, choices. As a consequence of my actions I was cited for driving through a red light and paid a fine of $219. Consequence is the operative word here. Intentional or not, I violated local law. In retrospect, there were a number of things I might have done differently that might have improved the outcome. I could driven with greater distance between my own car and the car in front of me. I could have tried to stop without changing lanes. I could have changed lanes and then stopped as quickly as possible, etc. The fact is, I made a bad decision and got caught. It would have been nice if the circumstances surrounding my infraction had been more relevant to my outcome but they weren't. I don't necessarily agree with the politics, laws, or legal system in Saudi Arabia and I think it would be nice if Saudi authorities gave more consideration to the circumstances in this man's case. The fact is though, he made a bad decision and got caught. Posted by: Fast Eddie at October 8, 2009 2:40 PM

It seems like noone wants to mention that the crime rate in Saudia Arabia is about 40 times less than the United States, it seems like most americans are still watching fox news to get thier daily info. Why dont you go do some research and see the facts for yourself. The real issue is we have come to a point in our lifes tat our physical desires are in control of what our natural state should be, and thats the rememberance of God in everything we do. In the U.S. We should ask ourselves, How would we behave infront of GOD, and thats how we sould all behave. Posted by: Muhammad at October 8, 2009 3:07 PM I don't agree with him being so open on national tv, but he is a man. He's going to brag about his conquest's and embellish. What about the women he's doing these things with?? Why aren't they receiving the same punishement?? God made us sexual creatures. There is a time and place for such things. Muslim law expects people to behave like statues. I don't think that is what God intended. Loosen up and be human. Posted by: Sherry at October 8, 2009 3:21 PM Well..we are not a perfect country but overall we are the best country that any man or women in the world would like to live in other than the royal families. Question? Who finance 9/11? The number one reasons most Middle East Countries hate us is not due to wealth..is due to the freedom that women have in our country. Furthermore, I believe in God but do not hate or kill those that do not believe what I believe. It was fair and square. He even admitted that he was wrong for openly discussing this to the public. This punishment will correct his behavior and deter other people from openly discussing heneious and abominable sexuals acts. And if ALLAH hides the sins of us who r we to disclose it openely. This goes against the moral values of the human being and society. I am an American, but I am proud to be living in saudi Arabia, a country, where people have such high moral values and standards. If you don't have love, respect and fear of God, then you will do anything. This man will think twice and so will others before they publicise their private acts. Saudi Arabia doesn't care what u do behind closed doors--as they are nit God- but they have a responsibility to uphold the law and protect the innocent from immulating this distasteful conduct openly. This may be why Sauid is the most hated Muslim country by most western countries because they stick to their religious values and as long as they dont give in to the evils of the Western world, they will have the protection of ALLAH-as we see today. They will also have a high moral society --as you see today. They will thrive economically while other countries fail--as we see today. If you do not like the USA, pick a language, German or Japanese. Russia did a large part in WWII, but if it were not for the USA the good people of the Middle East would be speaking Russian right now. (see history books with the occupation of Afghanistan in them and then reference the Cold War if you doubt the truth of this.) Finally, for all those out there in cyber space who cite the US’s occupation of Afghanistan as being mean spirited, the last time I checked, they still speak their language, have their own religion, and a stable region where they govern themselves. The US is only a security force there. One cannot simply see one or two bad apples and throw the baby out with the bath water. Posted by: Mohammad at October 8, 2009 7:58 PM Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia....I say America should turn them into glass parking lots.... Posted by: RedWhiteBlue at October 8, 2009 8:49 PM I lived and worked in Saudi for many years.Met my wife there, and our daughter was born there. I respected their laws and customs.I also believe some of their laws should be in effect here.If so I beleive the crime rate here would be substantially less. Posted by: former saudi 'expat' at October 8, 2009 8:55 PM Talking sand niggers is white trash talking. Posted by: Anonymous at October 8, 2009 9:26 PM I think we should casterate all the saudi men who think its ok to beat, rape, sodimize, etc their wives bhind closed doors do we eveer hear from the women, about what their hubbys do 2 them, NO, they would b stoned to death. I say turn the lot of sand niggers to glass. Posted by: donna at October 8, 2009 9:27 PM Don't forget, Islam is a religion of peace. Posted by: Anonymous at October 8, 2009 9:54 PM Religion of peace my A$$! The people that are suicide bombers are either Islam or Muslim, so I don't see how blowing yourself and other people is "peaceful". I say we just nuke the stupid country, so we don't have to deal with this crap. We should blow up Iraq and Afhganistan or whatever its called too. Posted by: John at October 8, 2009 10:04 PM some cray prejudiced talk here...if you bon't know what goes on behind closed doors why speculate so hurtfully about it... Posted by: Anonymous at October 8, 2009 10:05 PM I agree with you donna but we rarely hear of domestic homicides in Saudi Arabia which can not be hidden.look at the statistics in dvrc-or.org Posted by: Mohammad at October 8, 2009 10:32 PM Thank God for living in the free Western world...although I don't believe in that crap about America being the greatest country on earth, first of all there are still a lot of homeless, hungry and uninsured people in America, secondly there are still a lot of racists and narrow minded people, thirdly the economy was near collapse and mortgages are wrongly financed etc. etc. and if you look at the index of the UN regarding quality of life America did not even make it to the top 10 best countries to live in, that was reserved for European countries like Norway and The Netherlands, and countries like Japan, Canada and Australia, so stop fooling yourself (you are probably just repeating what you've heard a lot from chauvinistic Americans), luckily America is still a little better than Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa but that's about it Posted by: Dennis at October 8, 2009 10:58 PM THE PROBLEM WITH THE WORLD IS SOOOO SIMPLE. EVERYONE IS JEALOUS OF THE US. YES, WE HAVE OUR PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, WE DO NOT HIDE/DRESS OUR WOMEN FROM HEAD TO TOE. WE DO NOT SPEAK FOR OUR WOMEN. OUR WOMEN SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. JEALOUS, I THINK SO. WHAT ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF? YOU ARE JEALOUS, INSUCURE PEOPLE. THATS IT. END OF STORY. PENIS SIZE? ABILITY IN THE BEDROOM? DONT KNOW OR CARE. ITS NOT THE 18TH CENTURY. GROW UP AND BE A MAN. LET YOUR WOMEN WALK DOWN THE DOWN THE STREET AND, IMAGINE THIS, BE LEERED AT, ACTUALLY APPRECIATED FOR THEIR BEAUTY. NO BIG DEAL. THAT IS TRUE FREEDOM. UNTIL YOU CAN GIVE THAT UP. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TO TALK CRAP ABOUT THE US. EVERY TIME SOMEONE ACROSS THE GLOBE HAS A PROBLEM ACROSS THE GLOBE, THE COME LOOKING TO THE US FOR HELP. REMBER THAT. A GUY TALKED ABOUT SEX, THEY SHOW NUDE PEOPLE ON PRIME TIME DURING COMMERCIALS IN EUROPE. GET OVER IT. IF YOU WERN'T SO INSECURE, IT WOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE. GET OVER THE SIZE OF YOUR PENIS AND LET ALL APPRECIATE THE TRUE BEAUTY OF HUMANITY Posted by: Manzo at October 8, 2009 11:11 PM My wish for all of you who have posted comments here is: Practice wanting for others what you want for yourself by being Christ like, rather than a Christian, Mohammed-like rather than a Muslim, and Buddha-like rather than a Buddhist. Posted by: Ron Smith at October 8, 2009 11:26 PM Uh yeah, "just me" and all you other ARABS, You wanna talk respect and consideration and privacy and religion. Its a great game for the ARAB men over there. OK so lets talk of all these things you a holes "claim are part of your religious beliefs". Religious beliefs my ass, religion is a tool your countrymen use as a way around what is right and wrong. You kill innocent people, you cut the clits off of your daughters so they won't be tempted into sex and you sew them up so they remain a virgin so when they turn 8-10 yrs old you dirty old men can marry them and will have a tight f-uck. You marry several young kids barely out of elementary school. You have grown men in their 40s and 50s over there using "religious beliefs" as a tool to make it "alright" to marry several women (oops scratch that, several little children, for their own sexual pleasure". You wanna talk respect. STOP CUTTING THE CLITORISES OFF OF YOUR LITTLE GIRLS! and STOP SEWING UP THEIR VAGINAS SO YOU OLDER UGLY MEN CAN HAVE A TIGHT F-CK WITH CHILDREN WHO ARE NOT EVEN IN JR HIGH SCHOOL YET! YOU ARE SAD EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS AND ALAH WILL GET YOU SOON! Posted by: Glenda at October 8, 2009 11:35 PM we should nuke thier fucking country, they dont do shit for the world. Posted by: commentor at October 8, 2009 11:52 PM we should nuke thier fucking country, they dont do shit for the world. Posted by: commentor at October 8, 2009 11:52 PM Hey discusted in america, You talk out your ass too much without anything to back it up. Try reading the arabic news. There are gang bangers in the news, and rapists in the news no different than here in America. The difference is that you aren't there to hear about the crime that goes on in that country. perhaps you should do some reading and researching before you open your a-hole. Posted by: Glenda at October 8, 2009 11:55 PM THESE PEOPLE ARE WORSE THAN ANIMALS. I THINK WE SHOULD TAKE ALL THIER OIL AND PUT THEM BACK IN THE DESERT TENTS THAT THEY LIVED IN BEFORE WE GAVE THEM THE TEC. TO EXTRACT ALL THE OIL THEY HAVE. THEN THET CAN FIGHT AND CUT EACH OTHERS HEADS OFF LIKE THEY USED TO 100 YEARS AGO. MAKE SAUDI A PARKING LOT Posted by: roger at October 9, 2009 12:00 AM IF YOU KNOW THE RULES AND YOU GO HEAD AND BREAK THEM ANYWAY, YOU DESERVE THE PUNISHMENT. THATS LIKE SAYING ITS OK TO BE A child molestor ONCE YOU DON'T GET COUGHT. PEOPLE THAT ARE INVOLVE WITH CRIME ALWAYS THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GET AWAY WITH IT, WITHOUT THAT BELIEF THERE WOULD BE NO CRIME. CRIME=PUNISHMENT. IT'S NOT ABOUT RELIGION OR GOD. Posted by: KARIM at October 9, 2009 12:02 AM so Aisha, You have to be the stupidest person in this world as we know it. You are idolizing a country that you say "doesn't care what goes on in the privacy of peoples homes" so basically "its ok to be immoral so long as no one sees, or hears it. Well you know what they say "ignorance is bliss". Try telling that to the numerous young girls who are castrated everyday, who are sewn up for full grown men to marry so they can have a tight f-ck. These men are self serving over there. And by the way, crime does exhist over there. Rapes occur, gang banging occurs over there. Read the arabic news. You truly give new meaning to the term idiotic. lol Posted by: Glenda at October 9, 2009 12:05 AM To Sasha, there is all kinds of things going on over there in fact i bet 10 year olds having sex, or being raped since females arent regarded as people over there but as possessions to do whatever men want to do to them. Posted by: Torry at October 9, 2009 12:09 AM a saudi man actually opened his mouth about sex? Posted by: goose4dgander at October 9, 2009 12:13 AM Karim, Posted by: Glenda at October 9, 2009 12:26 AM NOW KARIM, TELL ME THATS NOT CONSIDERED MOLESTATION! I DARE YOU! I GUESS IN YOUR CASE IT WOULD BE CONSIDERED "LEGALIZED MOLESTATION" WHICH IN MY OPINION IS THE WORST KIND OF MOLESTATION THERE IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO ONE OVER THERE FIGHTING AGAINST IT AND THESE INNOCENT CHILDREN HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER NOW DO THEY! Posted by: Glenda at October 9, 2009 12:31 AM Oh anonymous, the dumbest of the dumb would be you. What in the hell would you call, kamakazi killing, 911, cutting the heads off innocent people. You have a sick idea as to what peace is. This is not peace dude. If you don't have anything smart to say, then shut the hell up. alah will be coming to get you and it aint gonna be pretty. lol Alah doesn't like ugly and you guys are just plain ugly! Posted by: glenda at October 9, 2009 12:37 AM The problem with A-rabs in this world is that they are "in the world". Can't we just ship them to a remote island and just blow it up? Posted by: Glenda at October 9, 2009 12:41 AM The law in saudi arab is too strict and we feel sorry for this person. But we should remember one thing. We should consider the number of inocent people that die in USA because of the freedom given for the people to use guns. For example there was a 10 year old boy blocking the road and car driver shot the kid to death. We should see which law is more stupider. This man new the law and he broke it.(But the punishment is too cruel). But that kid was not doing anything against the law, but the stupid law took his life. Posted by: undertaker at October 9, 2009 1:02 AM yes, we are the greatest nation ! but we also have people with no class! we can disagree without name calling! Posted by: mc at October 9, 2009 1:31 AM Ok, so he got 5 years and 1000 lashes, what about the TV station that televised it? What happened to them, if this is such a bad crime to commit? Posted by: Just Me at October 9, 2009 1:36 AM this is the only post I will make on this page....if this world does not realize the damage that the greedy majority do to their people, I will blow it all up soon.... and start from new....again. Now, that's defense of women's rights! Name one rapist in the US who was dicapitated even though it was required? Go ahead! Name one! Posted by: Bubba at October 9, 2009 2:25 AM Anybody besides me sick of berndette? She/he needs to realize the cartoon inside the piece of Double Bubble gum is not history. Posted by: FREEDOM #1 at October 9, 2009 2:31 AM yeah the U.S. may be a little more open about this sort of thing, but it wasn't always that way. 30 years ago in the US he would have been in jail as well, and any station that broadcast it would have had their license revoked. Remember the old sitcoms? the parents' bedrooms always had twin beds. And as for it being the religion of peace, it is, compared to Christianity, which has been the excuse for more wars than any other religion. It used to be worse you know... In the old testament, the best way to claim your bride was to rape her. If it happens outside of city limits you are required to marry her if she was a virgin. If it happened inside city limits, she could be stoned to death for not yelling loudly enough to get help. Also, finally, please don't call someone retarded if you can't actually spell retarded yourself... Dolt. This moron knew the laws of his land. He knowingly broke them, claiming "i didnt know i was being taped". What about the station? Isn't it illegal to broadcast ? However there are some people who are full of delusions (def: a false belief held in the face of logical argument)that you can not reason with.I was thinking for a while to understand how can somebody enjoy a tight ---- if he closes the ---- I think he will need an electric drill. These and similar ideas are baseless and untrue except in the heads of these who believe in them. Posted by: Mohammad at October 9, 2009 5:49 AM An arrogant person is like a person sitting on the top of a mountain,he sees other people small and other people see him small.Be humble and you will be raised. Posted by: Mohammad at October 9, 2009 6:10 AM Eric: There is no automatic process of upward-mobility at work in the universe. In fact according the laws of thermodynamics, entropy rules! For this reason, a one year old may possibly possess a measurably higher intellectual capacity than a severely retarded thirty year old. There is no necessary connection between chronology and qualitative improvement. The groundless assumption that there is, has given superficial credibility to the tiresome indictment that Religion has been the most prevalent cause of war violence and misery in human history. And while it is undoubtedly true that religious fanaticism continues to be a major source of human conflict, Evolutionary theory shamelessly and explicitly demands the violent extermination of the weak, by the stronger elements of a species as an indispensable catalyst for progress. For this reason, with social Darwinism as a convenient “scientific” rationale, and with Josef Stalin, and Mao-Tse-Tung as self-appointed members of the "natural selection" committee, Marxist regimes, such as the cultural reforms of Stalinist Russia, and “The Great Leap Forward” of Maoist China, managed to exterminate a conservatively-estimated two-hundred million indigenous citizens. Even the slaughter of a mere fifty-million human beings in World War Two, inspired by the anticipated emergence of Adolph Hitler’s evolutionary super-human, “Der Ubermensch,” pales into insignificance in comparison to genocide on such an unprecedented scale. Considering the license for global insanity inadvertently furnished by his findings, Charles Darwin’s polite refusal of the offer by Karl Marx, to dedicate his magnum opus, “Das Kapital,” in appreciation of Darwin’s unwitting provision of a scientific rationale for Marxist social theories, proved to be a wise decision. Because an examination of history reveals that in terms of human mortality, degradation, and misery, the unthinkable toll exacted by the faithful execution of evolutionary doctrine, is immeasurably greater than that of all the religious wars and sectarian persecutions ever to occur in the history of this planet! Meanwhile, Western society and Saudi Arabia continue to shake their moral fists at one another from extreme ends of the same scale. From the violent prohibition of all public sexual discussion to MANBLA. Sanity lies somewhere in between, and is not to be restricted by mere chronology Posted by: David McCarthy at October 9, 2009 2:08 PM All religion stinks. Posted by: Anonymous at October 10, 2009 5:32 PM When it comes to "stinky" old religion versus evolutionary science, the choice boils down to whether you prefer your genocide limited or unlimited.
