Running Shoes & High Heels: Which Are Better


If you are a runner, you probably take it for granted that the best way to run is in running shoes. But a new study suggests that running shoes are not made or running at all, and in fact you'd be better off running barefoot or even in high heeled shoes!

THe study says the current form of running shoes put exciessive strain on your joints, and can damage your legs and knees seriously over the long term. Runnin or jogging in running shoes could increase your risk of osteoarthritis and other conditions that you don't want to get. Osteoarthritis is the breakdown of cartilage in your joints, which can lead to bone rubbing on bone. But the reports to at least indicate that new and better running shoes are being developed, so we won't all ahve to just run barefoot.

Running shoes, decked out with the latest cushioning, motion control and arch support technologies, may not be as beneficial to your feet and joints as you might think. A new study finds that running shoes, at least the kind currently on the market, may actually put more of a strain on your joints than if you were to run barefoot or even to walk in high-heeled shoes, and the increased pressure could lead to knee, hip and ankle damage...
