Hurt Dog & New Mexico ER

As we battle to bring health care to all American people, one patient is making news for trying to expand health care even further, as he walked into the ER on four legs, seeking health care for dogs!

A dog in New Mexico limped in to the local hospital after getting injured in the neighborhood, somehow knowing the hospital was the place to go.

The dog was taken to a local animal shelter, and eventually reclaimed by its owner.

The veterinarian stitched him up, and said he was probably attacked by another dog.

Hospital staff say the dog was calm and friendly, and very smart to come there for help even though they couldn't really treat him there.

The patient was only slightly injured when he limped into a hospital in the northwest New Mexico city of Farmington. The only problem was, he was a dog. When the automatic doors at San Juan Regional Medical Center's emergency room slid open Saturday night, the pooch walked in, blood on his nose and paw, and a puncture hole in one leg.
