Recession & Angry Americans

We've all seen the coverage on tv of angry Americans in this recession, but just how angry are they, and why are they so angry?

Well according to the latest polls, a whopping 66% say they are angry about the state of the economy and how the government is handling it with their financial advice and policies. And 60% say neither party has the right answers on this economic recession, according to the Rasmussen poll.

The difficulty of job hunting as unemployment rates rise is a key factor in people's anger, among many other concerns around balancing your budget and feeding your family. For more details on how the American public is feeling right now, see the article below:

Recession & Angry Americans

Opposition to the health care plan proposed by the president and congressional Democrats has now hit a new high. Voters continue to oppose the government bailouts of General Motors and Chrysler, and opposition has grown to the president's plan for greater government regulation of the financial sector...

My is Paul Lopilato and I want to know why Massachusetts hasn’t gotten any stimulus money for job creation.

Transit Equipment and Infrastructure
City Streets/Metro Roads
Airport Technology and Infrastructure
Water and Wastewater Infrastructure –
Public Housing Modernization
Public Safety
Schools - a new federal program is proposed to provide federal funds to modernize school buildings.

Listen these are all good projects BUT there are a lot of people how out of work because most of these people are in the manufacturing sector.

Why isn’t there any stimulus money given to research and development, give companies big tax breaks,
Give to colleges like MIT they start up companies every day from MEDICAL, to high tech, to new inventions for the future.
Worcester Poly TECH is another college how creates new inventions for the future.
This is how you help the MANUFACTRUING SECTOR……………

It would only take 100 billion dollars and tell them to start 100 billion companies across America, a billion dollars for each project and company.
They only get this money if they have a new invention to bring to the table and they have to hire over 1000 people per company.

Listen he signed bill and produce 787 billion dollars for us tax payers to pay back at least you can do is put people back to work.
And make this country strong and thriving again.
I am sure that these college s would like to help in any way they can to get this country out of this recession.

Please help
Paul Lopilato

how about giving every US citizen over 18 years old a real stimulus check for $100,000.00 so they can get out of debt, fix thier homes, pay for rent and start buying again. That would get America going!!!

I hate obama. Worst Poser President EVER!!!

Posted by: Anonymous at October 13, 2009 8:44 PM

it don't matter who is president, government is BIG BUSINESS and they DO NOT care about the little people or little businesses. They just care about themselves and their friends and family. That's how it has been from the beginning of time. What makes anyone think anything is going to change now?

Posted by: Carlo at October 14, 2009 6:55 PM

I'm sick of tom using sick every other line and I'm sick of sick minded Americans like Tom that think they know what's best for this country. Also adding the homo touch to your rant makes you look like a racist a**hole. America is fine i've been to many places around the world and hands down America (even in these bad times) still out shines and place out there. so shut up and drink your bottle you big baby!

Im sorry, but I think in america there are a lot of problems. But to start one of the main problems is racism, sexism, and being predigest to people who's lifestyles you do not agree with. Gays, straights, blacks, whites, muslim, christian, and many other minorities get the finger pointed at them for problems which they all must take part in. If you want to point a finger, maybe you should do your research and make sure who your finger is pointing towards. Problems in the world today will not be solved by one country, government or perosn. We all need to work togeather and leave our predigest's in the past where it belong and look towards the future. If we all worked togeather we could make the world a better place. Even if it starts at a lower level, it needs to start somewhere. If we continue this era of finding each other indifferences we will never move forawrd and will always be stuck in the past. I believe people are in for a rude awakening. People are getting tired of big cooperations owning everything, problems with race, color, and sexual orientation. But the problem exists in us all. Only until we work togeather will these problems be solved. And if you do not agree with me. This is only my opinion, and maybe you should be more optimistic about your thinking.

Will baroque hussein obama send the proposed 40,000 US soldiers to Afghanastan to help our boys in blue or not.
Of course if he does that just means that he is sending 40,000 more kids to get killed.
Then again if he decides not to send the additional troops over seas and just let the other soldiers suffer for awhile and then eventually get killed.
This should prove to be a good test for our wonderfull president after all he has done more than any other president in history in so little time. I know most of which is not good.
The decision whether to send our troops to the Middle East or not shouldn't be that difficult.
I mean it's not like he's sending his own kids over there to fight.

Theres gonna be a revoulution, just wait and see they dont see the storm coming but it is. they sold us and America out now its time that we the people take her back. criminals everyone of them.

The government can not provide anyone with anything cheaper then one can provide one self. Throwing money at anything will eventually cost more than the money thrown at it. Just think, to save our economy now we've put my great-grand kids in debt. What kind of future is that.

its time for the torches and pitchforks folks. this world is in the hands of a relatively few very rich people. usa has indeed been bought and stole by those in washington dc and there big money bribers.

it's time to take it back, im just waiting for the rest of you to catch up and realize it.

so, let's blame this President for all of the problems that have been brewing for decades. Open your eyes folks and quit your b**ching! And, jeronimoh, you're whacked if you don't realize that it was GWB who started two wars. He, Cheney & co., have more blood on their hands than they'll ever wash clean.

Not since FDR has a US president proposed so much government control over our lives. I only hope every day that there will be a revolution and the Chicago thugs will be kicked out. Since when did government become its own separate entity. The government is us! We need to get back to the constitution and reinstate State's rights. No more handouts to the bums of this country!

Posted by: Patriot at October 16, 2009 10:28 AM

Has anyone done the math on the last census and the amount the government has given out in bailouts? It would be like giving every man women and child in america $2500. So tell me how that wouldent help the economy.

To the readers,
These are times of stress and posting your opinions and putting them out there to be tested for their quality is a major part of creating change. Just voting for another government official that you do not agree with is not enough. So reading this statement and having some opinion or emotion is one step further than where we were two years ago. People are caring because they are being affected negatively.
As for my opinion about American being upset:
I feel that for the vietnam war people realized that it was an unjust war. The government said it was for the security of the United States and our freedom from Communism and communist terrorist. In reality the government wanted control of the resorces in eastern vietnam. The reason Americans got so emotionally envovled was because they were derectly affect be the draft. Communist terrorist did not come over and take over the United States after we lost the war, they only recieved control of their own resources.
Today nothing is different except there is no draft. The government in playing into the fear of the people. There are terrorists and it is said that the war is for our security from the Islamic fundimentalists, or, just like in Vietnam, they will come and destroy the United States, and what we live for. In reality resources is creates a war.
The people of the United States are realizing that they have just been fooled again by their government. I would be upset also, but I would try to learn, and try to change this problem. It starts with the people. And a government is only as legitament as the people let it be. It takes organization.

This country needs to go back to the meat and potatoes way they used to have years ago and stop letting illegal immigrants into this country and sucking our welfare system to no end. Another thing, this Joshua that slams Tom is not a Christian if he believes in gay rights. Go back into the closet. Both parties are to blame on the way America is now and we need a different party in there because the Democrats and the Republicans have screwed everything up!

Posted by: johnnyd at October 16, 2009 12:29 PM

The captain of the RED OCTOBER said "A little revolution is good now and then, don't you think?" Yes I do - and the sooner the better!

An option might be formation and development of the American Freedom Party.

The republicans and democrats have failed the American people.

grow up people! no one can do anything for you especially the gov. You've got to do it for yourself. This situation is creating dependeence on government payout at tax payer expense. who do you think pays for this stuff?

Posted by: Anonymous at October 16, 2009 2:14 PM

Dear Americans,

If and when America decides who it is only then will we be a strong country .We have removed God from the social structure in the past few years . No pledge of allegence in schools ,no placing a right hand on a bible to tell the truth .
What do you expect ? No acountability for ones actions ,no payment for sin in a lake of fire for ever .Gays expecting to be equal no matter the price .The word wrong has no value any more ,all shades of grey no wrong answeres ,or actions .
Political offices are fleecing the tax payers more and more every year. They have to spend this years budget to get more next year .All levels of government are doing this and it adds up to alot of waste .Lobist pay for loyalty, voters get no such treatment for all the taxes they pay.

Well revolt all you want but have a better direction than the one we have been steered down the past few decades.GET A PLAN. Lets say like the one we had back in John Hancock's day.

Posted by: Anonymous at October 16, 2009 2:15 PM

we need to think like che guevarra but throw out the communist idea we need to take back our america and eliminate the threat we the people have power!!!! we are america we need to be freed!!!! with the strength of god we can do this,

Posted by: timer at October 16, 2009 2:37 PM

You just HAD a revoluton.
It's called 'ending the Bush era'. Many of the problems Obama faces now were inherited. The financial crisis, the housing tragedy, the war.
If you voted for Bush, you were part of the problem. Now you want it all fixed in a jiffy.
Giving tax breaks and power to Big business is what the republican party is all about. So,,, we had massive abuse of power, and you're wondering why you don't have jobs, easy credit, a decent, mortgage rate??
Ask your big business execs for a loan,,,, cause you GAVE your $$$$ to them.

Posted by: clayton at October 16, 2009 2:46 PM

Why don't we all just calm down and look at what caused the mess that we're in. It wasn't exclusively the Democrats or the Republicans. It was all of us, who allowed the political system to degenerate to where it is now. This can all be corrected by making our voices heard at the ballot box. The very first thing we must do is VOTE THE INCUMBENTS OUT! All of them; each and every one! No exceptions! Next, get rid of "political contributions". If we insist that the law be changed to OUTLAW POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS, then the influence peddlers will cease to exist and your voice can once again mean something. We can also add a law requiring equal air time for qualified political candidates to run a fair and equal campaign. ALL qualified candidates, not just dems and repubs. This partisan crap has made me sick!! Then there will be no need for "political contributions". Next, let's push for tort reform. These it's never my fault lawsuits are costing each of us dearly, in the cost of every product that we buy! What happened to the good old days when ACCIDENTS HAPPENED. No body's fault, an accident happened..live with it! Let your congressmen and senators know! We the people want you to outlaw political contributions and do away with rediculous lawsuits! Then, vote them OUT!! You will have your country back!!

Posted by: Duane at October 16, 2009 4:42 PM

hey america wake up the republicans and democrats caused this problem bacause they voted for things that we didnt really have a voice in bacause thats what they thought was best for us as people. when they run our lives without our say or opinion its because we gave them that power because we voted them in.then after that their greed and arogance led them to do whatever they deemed is what was best some from bribes and some from not reading others just did nothing. gwb didnt start any wars he just got a punch in the face of america and fought back. if someone killed your friend then bragged about it wouldnt you want justice thats what he did. you cant put the blame on any one president after all he is just a figure head with alot of pull especially when you give him a congress full of followers. only then can he screw america like you uneducated idiots did in this last election. you that voted for obama on his bullcrap change speaches put the sosialists in power i hope you all are happy but those of you that helped put him there and are now crying about it shut up.we can only change things when we make our voices heard.so if you want change raise your voices and let them in power know who is really in control speak up...
