Giant Waves in Hawaii (VIDEO)


Tourists and surfers alike are coming droves to the beach, to see giant waves hitting Hawaii that are the biggest seen in recent memory. But is it safe to gawkk at these giant waves, much less surf on them?

Surf event organizers are saying it is safe, and in fact are organizing a special tournament that only happens when Hawaii's waves get extremely high. As these waves go as high as 40 feet and over, there will be a major tournament with many top surfers trying to make history.

If you are not a professional, and not part of an organized event in a controlled environment, it's probably a better idea to stay out of the ocean right now, if you're in Hawaii and thiking of taking a shot at these monster waves.
