December 7, 2009Animal Cruelty? Reality Show Stars, Cooking Rats
Two stars of a British reality show are in hot water for their coking habits, after resorting to eating a rat during their stint on "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" as it was filmed in Australia. They have been officially charged with animal cruelty, since the rat recipe was used as part of a TV show, and therefore authorities take it as harm to animals done for the sake of a performance. Although I think it is gross to kill and eat a rat, I'm not sure I see how the ethcal principle works here, since if they hunted a deer and ate it, I doubt they would face similar charges. Its a rat! why is it so wrong? if its cruel to eat any animals, lets all just become VEGETARIANS. Heaven forbid if the activists see other people having chicken or fish or some beef. Get a life. In some china and Thailand provinces, people eat DOGS and PUPPIES and even monkey brains. So why not charge them as well? Geez..
