Bush: Hand Wipe Scandal? (VIDEO)

George W. Bush is causing some controversy this week after video showed him wiping his hand on fellow former President Bill Clinton's shirt.

Which would be odd in and of itself, but what really made it look funny is that Bush did this right after shaking hands with Haitian residents.

Bush and Clinton are on a humanitarian trip to Haiti, helping with the relief and construction work going on to repair that nation crushed by a horrific earthquake.

So for Bush to wipe his hand right after greeting the Haitian people gave the appearance that he found the people dirty.

But the junior Bush is actually well known as a germophobe, and obsessed with cleanliness and hygeine.

He is known to often wipe his hands this way, and has various unusual habits around it.

So though it may not have looked so great chances are he was not making a judgment of those Haitian people specifically, but is just weirded out by shaking hands in general.

After the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti in January, President Obama asked former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush to lead the U.S. relief effort in that country. The two men viewed one of Haiti's "massive tent cities" yesterday, in a trip -- their first one to the country together -- to "remind donors of the immense needs facing the recovery effort."
