I really like your show. It's a shame that BAI doesn't give you guys the entire time block from 12 to 5 a.m. I loved this song you played a while ago: "Do you cause I'ma do me!" I absolutely love your show.

I wish Professor X had some respect- for gay people, for White people, for women...What respect did he show for his "sissy" bandmate Sugar Shaft when he died of AIDS? "Keep your opinion to yourself"; that's funny. Why don't you refute what I'm saying?

X-Clan has a vast knowledge of black history and what it means to be black. I can't believe Professor X is gone. If more brothaz and sistaz understood how great we actually were as a people before the transatlantic slave trade all the way back until the beginning of mankind then maybe we could put an end to our modern day problems such as the crack and aids epidemic as well as institutionalized racism. All we gotta do is unite and organize for what we want and it shall come to pass, but only if we understand that there are obstacles set up to prevent us from doing such. Professor X will be missed and I still look forward to more music from brother Jay. What'cha say?

Who are you to say he has poison minds of people. Are you cracked? You need to check ya self and eat a dick while your at it cause that man was very intelligent and he told the truth to the fullest! Nobody wants to hear the truth on what's really goin on in the black communities all over America. X-Clan, Professor X, Darksun, Brother J, Sugar Shaft, Isis, Queen Mother Rage and whoever I may have forgotten - You all have opened up the truth to those who were seekin it and they found it by your music. I am truly saddened by the death of Professor X. You will be truly missed.

Professor X will truly be missed. I think that you have to be a TRUE hip hop or rap fan to appreciate what these guys were trying to do and the message that they were trying to put out there. I think that their musical career was too short lived and I personally don't listen to or even buy rap or hip hop music or cd's these days because of the garbage that is being passed off as rap or hip hop. During X Clan's time, there seemed to be a conscious among those who we listened to or they were just trying to let us know what was going on in the hood. These days, all you hear about is how big a booty is or how a girl can shake it or some other vulgar crap. It is worthless in my opinion, and we all know about opinions. An opinion is just like an a__hole, everybody has one. But that jerk who made the disrespectful comments about the late Professor X is an a__hole.

THE LEGACY OF PROFESSOR X and THE BLACKWATCH MOVEMENT


To say that Professor X and The Blackwatch Movement all together brought along a consciousness to Hip-Hop like no other, which was ultimately true, is a grave understatement.
To me, The Blackwatch Movement were the epitome of Black consciousness in music as well as in life, especially to the generation of the 9.

Yes, MamiJenn, Blackwatch DID provide truth and the cosmic spiritual sense of self to those who seeked it and some who never even expected it. They just did it.
In fact, while many female acts were hellbent on bringing the sexes apart, The Blackwatch stood firm for the unification of Black men and women. This can be found in many songs from Brother J, Isis, Professor X, and Queen Mother Rage (in chronological order). And that's been my mission ever since before their music first hit us in 1989. And for me, the connection still remains flowing through my blood, in one Vanglorious way.

The Nubian Rootz Cultural Center of Charlotte is deeply sadden at the news of Brother Lumumba's passing. We last saw him in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn at the re-naming of Fulton Street to "Harriet Ross Tubman Avenue" in 15 degree weather...it was a "vanglorious" day indeed. He arrived quietly, even going around the back of the stage so as not to bring any attention to himself, or disrupt the keynote speech. But imagine Bed Stuy not recognizing it's native son! He became lost in a sea of hugs embraces, back pats, and well wishes. We both thank and salute Lumumba and his father Sonny Carson, for being dedicated to our struggle as a people, and pray earnestly for the children to continue to grow healthy and strong. From North Carolina to Brooklyn, We love and respect you and your father always. Peace.

Shoot, I know I'm that kind of a Big Hip Hop fan that'll stand up to these dead rappers and the retired ones. But the ones that left early should check theirselves before they say something that they'll regret. MLK 4 Nigga.

The word "Sissy" was not used as disrespect for gays. It was a challenge to Black Men to "Check themselves" ie: Look yourself in the mirror daily and check the sissy in yourself. Not your sexual preference, but if you are allowing your self and your people to be oppressed without expressing outrage then you are a sissy. If you are allowing your family and community to be torn apart then you are a sissy. If you are allowing drugs and violence to tear apart your community... you get the point????

Sugar Shaft was not gay! And he was no ones Sissy!
He was one of the best friends I ever had. He shared whatever he had even when it wasn't much.
If there was no Sugar Shaft, there would have been
