November 20, 2007Scarface on Soulja BoyAfter detailing Soulja Boy's disdain for "professional typing," hiphopdx dropped this tidbit from Scarface, his take on the Soulja Boy phenomenon: Posted by jsmooth995 at November 20, 2007 2:51 AM Comments
"My kids don't like my shit.." That was enough for me right there. Hip Hop and Rap is now under the control of the youngins out there.. the Tweeners now control your radio. Posted by: Belve at November 20, 2007 5:03 AM J, This here blog - I can tell it's professionally typed. But I like it. I like whatever the kids like. Posted by: Rags at November 20, 2007 12:22 PM I cant hate on the homie its just not in my blood but it just goes to show BOTTOM LINE the SOUF is takin ova and I luv it Posted by: the1_tru-G at November 21, 2007 10:40 AM it's funny how there is this little air of hate some have toward Soulja Boy and others of his ilk... i personally don't jam him but it seems like we want all of hip hop to fall in line with a format... i'm 34 and the kids consider me ole' skool, so we must face the fact (much like 'Face has) that we are not all the knowing compass for whats Hot with our youth... someone loves dude as he is selling a gang of ringtones and da' album aint doing bad... look at him as a teen rapper, like pop music has teen bands! If you are 21 and above besides dancing to the song in the spot, you shouldn't trip off it... i am more impressed with his hustle and how he had a buzz way before Collipark stepped up; I remember seeing this guy like a year ago on Youtube and thought who is this dude... Posted by: www.ucanmakebeats.com at November 21, 2007 3:39 PM Tweeners now control your radio and radio controls your tweeners... Posted by: efremigio at November 23, 2007 6:58 PM Face is a smart dude, i love his comment! i laugh at people who talk greazy about this yung'n - you gotta respect what he did.... 1. created a beat in his bedroom as opposed to hating, many artists should be peepin' game Posted by: www.UCanMakeBeats.com at November 24, 2007 3:07 AM on point as usual....check this youtube vids i found...american gangster meets scarface... Posted by: John Q at November 24, 2007 4:27 AM being successful and making good music are two different things. Posted by: eric at November 28, 2007 12:45 AM I dunno soulja boy's "crank dat" is ight to dance to and kids like it. But it ain't that good. He aint got much to say, he's a discrace to legends like Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls and Proof who died for rap, they made statments said shit about their life, about lif in general, they talked about the government, current struggles, all soulja boy does is go "yah bitch yah" fo 3 minutes and calls it a song, he's missing the point of rap. Posted by: Spaz at November 28, 2007 4:47 PM soulja boy ain't good Pitbull's better Posted by: ca$h at November 29, 2007 7:52 PM ur music so so fuckin awsome keep crankin dat music Posted by: kierra at December 10, 2007 9:08 PM soulja boy is ok Posted by: KLIPZ AKA BLAK THEORY at December 11, 2007 8:54 AM aint that a b*** scarface is one of the greatest Posted by: mardochee Jacques at December 19, 2007 8:53 AM dont be hatin on soulja boy all because hes young and er'body like him! Posted by: jasmine at December 19, 2007 10:04 PM dont be hatin on soulja boy all because hes young and er'body like him! Posted by: jasmine at December 19, 2007 10:04 PM dats serious cuz people is into dance music more than lyrical Posted by: Cash at December 21, 2007 9:46 AM I, personally, can not stand Soulja Boy. I promise, every time I see someone "crank dat Superman" or any of the various "Superman" variations, I want to shake them into a comatose state. But, I guess I can't be mad; kids have a tendency to listen to the very music that the older generation hates (that is, if I may say "kids," as I am only 20). If it wasn't for such drastic changes in musical tastes among the older and younger groups, hip-hop probably wouldn't exist. Posted by: Mimi at January 3, 2008 12:09 AM The kid is just going for it. He would not be able to have such a vast base if the old leaders were not so busy fueding with each other.
