I ain't watched the video yet, but I cain't figure out why there are Black folks standin in front of the american flag like it's our flag. Or like they stand for "the american way" or something. It seems like in august 2008, we are still begging for acceptance. Let's see the video... oh, yeah and all you poli-sci buffs, too, somebody tell me when an american president completely steered this country in a different direction? -Black People Posted by: Black People at July 31, 2008 4:21 PM Black People You see that last time I checked, that flag is Our flag. Many Black Americans have died for this country. Our people made this country what it is today, and what it will be in the future. I do completely understand that there have been and still remains many injustices for us. With the attitude that you seem to have against a country that you live in, you're only contributing to the problem. So, since you feel so negative about the U.S., how about you go to the Sudan, the Congo, or even some countries in Europe and see how many injustices you will face (without ANY vocal opinion)? Posted by: Smooth Flya at August 1, 2008 5:06 PM ahhhhhhhhhhhh. smell lat? nuntin like the smell of internet beef/debates on a sunday mornin. you jump from one point to another. the whole "Blacks built this country and it's as much as our country as anyone elses" bulljive. recognize something: say you own, uh, let's say a fictional entitity called americoncorp. big corporation.
the mailroom clerk? the security gaurd?
but didn't they help "build" your company? you gotta be honest about our role in this country if you ever wanna get something substantial for people of color. you gotta recognize that we were the cogs in THIER big plan. we were not the planners or the builders. we were the help. understand and recognize that. when I see black folks standin in front of the american flag it's like watchin a janitor sittin in a bar declarin that americoncorp is his company. and his dumb ass got fired like 3 years ago.
-Black People Posted by: Black People at August 3, 2008 12:51 PM Maybe ya'll forgot what being black in america is about, Claiming what's rightfully ours. This country was taken over and directed in the interest of its most powerful individuals. It's about time we started recognizing our power and exercising it. Posted by: B-Mental at August 11, 2008 11:39 PM OK the asshole that wrote about black people begging for acceptance give it a fucking rest. Get over it many proud black men and women died to help fight for this country!!! Stop crying racism at the drop of a hat. It is people like you who give the race a bad name!!! Be proud to be in american or go back to Africa if you were ever there to step on the soil. Posted by: debra santaniello at August 12, 2008 2:45 PM Post a comment |
