The "Gangland" television series on the Barrio Azteca gang will show Thursday on the History Channel (cable Channel 58), show staff and local law enforcement said.

The episode, titled "Blood River," was filmed last March in the El Paso-Juárez area. The Barrio Azteca is one of the largest gangs in the El Paso region. "Gangland" airs at 7 p.m. Thursdays with re-runs several times a week. The series looks into the world of prison and street gangs in cities across the United States.

Over the past several months, History Channel Gangland Producers have been in the Borderland and several other states working on the documentary “Blood River”. The documentary is an overall look at the Barrio Azteca Prison Gang. For many months, producers worked with several Law Enforcement agencies to include the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Gang Intel Unit (past & present). EPCSO STGIU gave a law enforcement insight on the largest gang from the El Paso, Texas area.
