Derek Dooley Hired

The University of Tennessee football team officially has a new leader, as the school has named Derek Dooley as their new head coach.

Dooley comes to Tennessee from Louisiana Tech, where he oversaw a modreately successful reign, more or less. Well, he was 17-20. But he is the son of the old Georgia coach Vince Dooley, and his uncle Bill Dooley is also a successful college coach, so that evens things out maybe. Dooley replaces Lane Kiffin, who jumped ship after one year to take a job at USC.

It's a risky pick, since he has little experience, but it could pay off for the football team that hasn't had success in a while. New young college football coaches are often able to be the most innovative, and bring new life to a team.
