8-Year-Old Boy, Terror Watch List?

As America continues reassessing its security measures in all major airports, signs keep popping up that we need to fine tune our system quite a bit. The latest example is this 8-year-old boy, who is on the terror watch list and has been getting stopped and basically harassed at airports his whole life, even while actual security threats get by.

The boy, Mikey Hicks, has been on the Department of Homeland Security's watch list for years now, and gets stopped and frisked every time his family flies, at a minimum. It seems to have been his bad luck to share a name with another Mikey Hicks who is legitimately on the list, and for some reason they are unable to take note of this in the system so he'll be able to get on a plane without trouble? There's gotta be a better way for airports to do this!

Meet Mikey Hicks, who is public enemy number one, according to a Homeland Security Department watch list. He's also an 8-year-old cub scout who attends parochial school in Clifton, N.J., and has been receiving the third degree from airport security since he was 2-years-old. "A terrorist can blow his underwear up and they don't catch him. But my 8-year-old can't walk through security without being frisked," his mother said..
