Lost Dog Goes Home: Mickey, Boston Terrier

A lost dog, that was missing for four years, finally made its way home this week! The Boston terrier, named Mickey, was found a thousand miles away from its Kansas City home, in Montana, and was reunited with its ecstatic owners.

The dog was equipped with a microhip to help it be located and identified, and an animal shelter in Montana was able to use it to track down Mickey's owners. They made some phone calls to be able to identify it throguh the chip, and wound up calling a veterinary clinic a thousand miles away, where a shelter staff says "I gave them the chip number, and the woman kind of started screaming. She goes, 'Oh my God, is that a Boston terrier? Oh my God, it belongs to Kari Mitchell. She used to work here."'

Quite a heartworming story, can you imagine thinking your dog was gone for 4 years and finding out it was still around! I bet the dog remembered themm like it was yesterday, too.
