October 19, 2005Funkmaster Flex Clowning The SourceI need to hear this. Does anyone have audio? I'm told it was Grade A comedy. Funk Master Flex Versus The Source EDIT: That "african tribes warring" comment further down is a little weird. Posted by jsmooth995 at October 19, 2005 5:38 PMComments
Flex has received more money than any DJ ever to play records and that sad thing is, he'll probably be the last (if ever) to get put on blast for it... I know it's not much to be excited about but at least Power 105 finally beat out Hot in ratings this week... Posted by: neil nice at October 19, 2005 10:15 PM Yeah funny that Spitzer didn't dig up any dirt on Flex, considering that his payments are the probably the best known "wink wink" open secret in the industry. I'll take him over Benzino any day, however. Posted by: Jay Smooth at October 20, 2005 12:40 AM Word, that last comment about African tribes threw me off as well. As for Flex, everyone in the industry and even those not in the industry know he's lining his pockets with payoffs. Franchise Marketing or whatever the hell it is is a front to launder his shit. How the hell you gonna pay a DJ's marketing company to help you get spins? Flex done been played out for years and his Lugz kicks are wack too. They looks like some shits you see at TJ Maxx or Ross for like $19.99 and shit. Posted by: Writebrother at October 20, 2005 4:26 AM Yeah, a bunch of rappers having beef isn't exactly Rwanda. Posted by: Joe Grossberg at October 20, 2005 11:07 AM At least flex knows hot shit. Benzino??? Just the name alone makes me laugh. Posted by: zippy at October 21, 2005 5:20 PM Source and Funk Flex = Hot 97 = Clearchannel aren't working together to destroy the youth? This may be a prepackaged BEEF for ratings... or I could be totally wrong, yet I could careless for Funkmaster Flex or the fucking Source Mag. Posted by: chrisnyce at October 27, 2005 6:38 PM Hot is not with Clearchannel, to be precise, but I see where you're coming from. I'm pretty sure there is genuine ill will here though.
