Dennis Hopper Fighting Cancer Nine Years


Dennis Hopper is one of the coolest, toughest actors in Hollywood, but until recently few people knew he had been in the toughest battle of his life for the last nine years: fighting cancer.

Hopper confirmed just months ago that he was being treated for prostte cancerm and that his cancer was first diagnosed in 2002. Hopper is said to be gavely ill now and sadly may be in the last stages of his brave battle wit hthe disease.

There are no warning signs or any readily identifiable symptoms of early prostate cancer. Once a malignant tumor has caused the prostate gland to start swelling significantly, or once the cancer spreads beyond your prostate, the following symptoms may be present. A frequent need to urinate, especially at night, difficulty starting or stopping the urinary stream, and others. Dennis Hopper was first known for his featured role in Apocalypse Now (1979) brought him attention. He subsequently appeared in Rumble Fish (1983) and The Osterman Weekend (1983), and received critical recognition for his work in Blue Velvet.

Dennis Hopper was first diagnosed with cancer nine years ago, the acting icon has revealed. The Easy Rider legend's manager Sam Maydew confirmed the star had prostate cancer last month (Oct09) after Hopper had been admitted to hospital suffering from "severe flu-like symptoms".
