Palin Hacking Case Verdict


A partial verdict has been reached in the Sarah Palin email hacking case, but the jury continues to be deadlocked on a fourth charge, leaving everyone in suspense about what the final call will be.

On the charges of wire fraud, unauthorized access to a computer and obstruction of justice a verdict has been reached unanimously, but the jury reports they are still deadlocked on the identity theft charge, and they declined to say what they decided otherwise. The 22 year old college student who figured out Sarah Palin's password and then made many of her private emails public, is facing up to 50 years in prison if convicted. A serious sentence for what he surely thought at the time was only a prank. but that doesn't excuse the crime! He was wrong for violating her privacy and email security, and now he has to face consequences.

Federal jurors deliberating the Sarah Palin e-mail hacking case told the judge Thursday they are deadlocked on one charge after reaching unanimous decisions on three others. They adjourned in the afternoon and will return Friday. The jurors declined to announce their verdicts on charges of wire fraud, unauthorized access to a computer and obstruction of justice. The deadlocked charge is identity theft.
