Rookie Joey Logano benefited from crew chief Greg Zipadelli's gutsy late-race pit strategy for his first Sprint Cup Series victory in Sunday's rain-shortened Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire International Speedway. Logano, a native of nearby Middletown, CT, was the only driver who had yet to pit during a round of green-flag stops. He inherited the lead on lap 263 when Ryan Newman ran out of fuel and coasted into the pits.

Joey Logana just became the youngest Sprint Cup winner ever, in the latest race in New Hampshire. His team's owner Joe Gibbs, the halll-of-fame former NFL coach, head of Joe Gibbs Racing, admitted Sunday he tried not to put too many expectations on the talented, but woefully inexperienced Joey Logano.

"We were really looking for just constant improvement, and that's really what we've seen," Gibbs said after Joey Logano became the youngest driver in the history of the Sprint Cup Series to win a race, taking the rain-shortened Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
