March Madness, the time of year for filling out brackets, watching tons of games, and....getting a vasectomy?

A urology practice in Chicago it trying to redefine college basketball's NCAA March Madness tournament as the perfect time for sports-watching men to get a vasectomy.

The doctors who run the 21st Century Urology, who are behind the public health initiative, are even launching a two-week ad campaign to encourage men to schedule medical the procedure in the weeks right around the beginning of the big tournament, so that as they stay home to recover from the surgery they can be watching the games.

A vasectomy is a surgical procedure where the vasa deferentia are severed, and then tied/sealed in a manner such to prevent sperm from entering the seminal stream, to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

A suburban Chicago urology practice says college basketball's March Madness tournament is the perfect time for men to get a vasectomy. Doctors at 21st Century Urology in Orland Park have launched a two-week ad campaign to induce men to schedule the procedure during the days before the first two weekends of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the Chicago Press Release Service reports.
