Apple iBookstore Details Leaked


As the release of the Apple iPad approaches, people are wondering how the deals will work for buying books to read on it, and now we are seeing the first glimpses of how it will work.

A screenshot has somehow leaked out, showing what the pricing will be for bestselling books, and giving some clues as to how the partnerships will work between Apple and publishers, that will let us buy books from them on the Kindle.

Another screenshot showed that the iPad's iBookstore that Apple is setting up to offer books from tProject Gutenberg, a volunteer effort to digitize thousands of classic books that will be offered for free.

According to a recent report, "The iPad rated highest in terms of consumers seriously considering purchase over the next three months at 15 percent of Internet users, with the Kindle at 14 percent."

As the release date for the Apple iPad draws near, information regarding e-book pricing from Apple's iBookstore leaks online, suggesting the company may have reached an agreement with publishers that Amazon failed to do with its e-reader, the Kindle...a photo showing the alleged pricing structure for Apple's online iBookstore surfaced. The screenshot, by way of Apple blog App Advice, shows four current fiction bestsellers listed for $9.99.
