Brenda Kerrigan Blamed Her Husband's Death on a Heart Attack


As the news breaks about the tragic death of Nancy Kerrigan's father, her mother blamed a heart attack for her husband's passing, after a fight with his son Mark.

Daniel Kerrigan, the father of Olympic skating champion Nancy Kerrigan, was the one everybody saw carrying a crying Nancy Kerrigan to get help after she was attacked in the infamous incident involving the husband of her skating rival Tonya Harding. The family, including the wife and a sister of the dad, are so far indicating that they do not blame the son for the incident, saying instead it was because of a heart attack and not the son's fault. Mark Kerrigan, does have a history of domestic violence arrests, and he was sued by his parents leading to an incarceration in 2008.

Kerrigan's mother, Brenda, refuted claims that her husband's death was suspicious, telling the Boston Herald that he died of a "massive heart attack." "My God. He had a heart attack," she told the newspaper. "That's what it was." Kerrigan, who has a lengthy criminal record, faces a maximum of up to five years in prison and is being held on $10,000 cash bail.
