Years ago, The Simpsons made a joke out of the idea of bringing in a new character to spice things up, with the ridiculous Poochie the Dog character joining the show for one episode after focus groups decided he would make the show more "proactive and in your face." Now years later the show is actually adding a random new character, named Ricardo Bomba! The new character was created by a Simpsons viewer, who won a contest that invited fans to create a new character that would join the cast of characters in Springfield. Apparently Ricardo Bomba will be a Latin ladies' man, who works his charms on the local women. Bomba will make his debut in an episode this week, that centers around a lottery ticket and also co-stars Chris Martin of Coldplay. Many fans feel the shoew is not on the same level of quality it used to be, but it certainly still has its moments where it shows a bit of the old genius, and maybe this new character will add a little fresh energy to the set!
