"That should be someone else, that confuses me beyond recognition. I don't know how to react," Depp said. "I really thought it was a joke."

Johnny Depp is a perennial contender for the Sexiest Man Alive honor, but even after all these years he continues to be ambivalent about the award, saying he still doesn't believe he is the right man for that position.

Depp is one of the greatest actors of his generation and also a stylish and suave leading man. But when asked about People magazine and others saying he is the sexiest man living, he was bashful and said ""That should be someone else, that confuses me beyond recognition. I don't know how to react, I really thought it was a joke."

Depp IS about to make news as the star of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, continuing his ongoing role as Burton's muse, much as Dicaprio does for Scorsese. Which reminds, me, it would be cool to see Johnny Depp in a Scorsese film! Hollywood, if you're reading this, make that happen.

Pirates of the Caribbean' star Depp could not escape having to comment on the 'The Sexiest Man Alive' title bestowed on him last year by US magazine People. 'That should be someone else, that confuses me beyond recognition. I don't know how to react,' Depp said. 'I really thought it was a joke.' Turning to politics, he is not among those who have turned against the US president. 'Obama has great intentions. He is a decent man. He is a strong man as well. I look forward to very good things.'
