Ever since Different Strokes went off the air there has seemed to be a curse on all its young cast members, and this week it struck again for Gary Coleman, as he was arrested in Utah, leading to his mugshot being linked all over the internet in what is sure to be a humiliating situation for the former child star and darling of the country.

Police came to his residence to investigate reports of a civil disturbance, and according to some newspaper reports wound up arresting Gary Coleman on "suspicion of domestic assault." Coleman, who believe it or not is 41 year old, has had a history of run-ins with the law, including an incident last year where someone accused him of trying to run somebody over with his car. There is no word yet from Coleman or his representatives on how he will plea in this allaged domestic assault charge. In fact, othe reports indicate that the newspaper was incorrect, and Coleman was actually arrested do to a previous issue not related to domestic assault at all.

Hopefully it can be worked out and he will seek help if he needs it, as domestic violence (IF this is true) is a very serious issue that should not be taken lightly, whether you are a former celebrity or not. And if the reports of that charge are only a rumor, hopefully that will be cleared up and the local paper will apologize. For now we'll wait and see what the real story is.

A booking photo provided by the Utah County jail shows a tired and creepy looking Coleman, after the one time "Diff'rent Strokes" star was arrested in Utah Sunday. But according to a press statement by Santaquin police, Coleman was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court in a previous case.
