After skyrocketing to higher heights of fame in 2009 and becoming America's sweeheart, Taylor Swift will now fly even higher as she reportedly takes over the classic role of Supergirl in an upcoming movie.

Swift will take the starring role as Supergirl that was originally played by Helen Sslater in the 1984 movie, though of course Supergirl has been around much longer than that. No word yet on whether they will keep calling her "girl." which some feminists might not like. Why does Superman get to be a man but she can't be Superwoman?

As any comic reader will know, Superman an Supergirl both came from Krypton, and Supergirl is also known as Kara Zor-El. She was known for fighting America's most dangerous super super-villains, so country/pop singing star Taylor Swift should be more than ready after defeating her arch-enemy Kanye West, and sending him back to Arkham Asylum.

Taylor Swift is set to show the world what super girls are made of. Swift will play Supergirl in a remake of the 1984 movie, which starred Helen Slater in the part.
